Formerly the lead singer and songwriter of the band jailbait, which delved into indie and hardcore music for four years before embarking on a solo career, Alyssa Taylor started her journey as cmputergrl. Her new project pushes boundaries between various genres that inspire her, resulting in a fresh and unique sound that resonates with elements of jungle, digital hardcore and dance pop. On 4/20/2024, she released her debut single "Richgrl," marking the beginning of her solo journey in the electronic music scene.
Alyssa's interest in making music began at the age of 12 when she discovered Christina Grimmie covers on YouTube while initially searching for Zelda gameplay on the family desktop. This inspired her to start singing and playing piano. At 15, she ventured into guitar playing after visiting a Fret Shop with her grandfather and being gifted her first electric guitar when an employee heard her play. Transitioning from covering songs on YouTube to crafting her own originals, Alyssa and her friend amphetachan founded their band in 2018.
Expanding her musical repertoire, Alyssa learned to play bass and drums, aiming to integrate all her talents into an experimental sound by mixing them on her computer. Notably, Alyssa prefers to create beats using only the keyboard on her computer, avoiding the use of MIDI controllers to maintain a unique approach to music production.
